Hate is not regarded as a psychological disorder by the mental health profession. Does this seems strange to you? I believe that our capacity to hate is the absolute definition of madness in humans. In the simplest of terms, humans hating and killing other humans is crazy; it is madness. Hate crimes are punishable by law but hatred itself is perhaps regarded as normal and therefore untreated within the mental health profession.
Depression and anxiety are regarded as the biggest mental health challenges worldwide and are the main focus of psychotherapists and the pharmaceutical industry. However psychotherapy largely ignores the most lethal aspect of our human nature; hate. Hate hypnotises, enthrals and compels us to our own destruction and the death of everything else on the planet.
For psychiatrists and psychotherapists, anorexia is the mental health disorder recognised as having the highest risk of mortality, anorexia kills. However, hate is not listed as a mental health disorder and therefore regarded as normal by psychiatry. Are our mental health professionals oblivious to the mental illness of hatred, a far more prolific killer than any of the eating disorders or other listed mental health disorders?
When we are born, love is not a certainty but hate is guaranteed; others will hate us and we will hate them. We are all destined to be the enemy and have enemies. Can we change this? If not, then we already know the future.
If we want to be mentally tough in this world then we need to confront our own hate and the hatred from others. We spend endless time and energy singing and talking about love when surely our most pressing issue is our hatred.
Please note! This talk will contain strong language and adult themes but also humour.

One in three of us suffers from poor sleep, with stress, computers and taking work home often blamed. However, the cost of all those sleepless nights is more than just bad moods and a lack of focus.
Regular poor sleep puts you at risk of serious medical conditions, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes – and it shortens your life expectancy. It’s now clear that a solid night’s sleep is essential for a long and healthy life.
Even if you’re moderately sleep-deprived, you’ll have a 50 percent slower response time and a lower accuracy rate on simple tasks than someone who is under the influence of alcohol.
One study found that one sleepless night contributed to a 20-32% increase in the number of errors made by surgeons. In another study, they found that sports players, especially sports that require focus like cycling or shooting, made more mistakes when they didn’t sleep. Even without looking at these studies, I’m sure we’ve all experienced this feeling, where we’re not on top of our game.
A good sleep routine can change your life and has endless benefits, ranging from increased productivity to better health. In this interactive talk, you will discover practical, fun and highly effective ways to switch off and managing your ‘racing mind’. In turn this will help you rest better and sleep to success!

Jonathan Tait-Harris has been there and done that.. with humour and style, usually in a hostile land and under fire. Jonathan will illustrate and highlight the value of face-to-face communication in the 21st century, referring to his own personal experience – from being an army officer in armed conflicts and a detective for the British police to investigating war crimes, first for the UN in the Balkans and later as an adviser for the US and Iraqi governments.
Despite having been face to face both with Saddam Hussein and Chemical Ali, and having dug up a lot of mass graves in Kosovo, Jonathan amuses and moves audiences with the lessons he learned around the world from many dramatic and improbable, yet all too human encounters.
His knowledge of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa is extensive and he is regularly called upon to advise and comment to the media, governments and NGOs. Jonathan also works with International Location Safety, which helps NGOs, journalists and professional travellers to stay alive by training them how to handle situations and threats in the world’s most dangerous places.

We celebrate the release of the new album “Macbeth”, the music that Daemonia Nymphe composed for the play that was performed at the National Theatre of Northern Greece last year.
The event will occur at the ‘Number 177’ in the heart of London’s East End or as we call it the “San Francisco” of London. Theatrical performances, dance, music and visual art in front of your eyes.
But mainly, you will have the chance to meet the musicians behind the band as well as the artists who worked together with Daemonia Nymphe for the play. And the new album will be available for the first time in London.

“Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard, spikenard and saffron; cane and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and agarwood, with all the chief spices.” – Song of Solomon, 4:13-14
Nearly all of the plants listed in the paradisiacal garden above contain psychoactive compounds known to psychopharmacology. The ancient Hebrews were adept at working with synergies and enzyme-inhibition to unleash powerful psychedelic experiences, as is evidenced by the recipe for the Holy Massage Oil described in Exodus. Other mind-bending preparations include the shewbread that satisfies at tiny doses, and the Tabernacle Incense containing opioid-receptor and GABA-receptor agonists, dopamine boosters and other curious chemicals.
Then there is the collective synaesthetic vision at Mount Sinai, which is one of a very few collective visions found in world mythology. It takes place under the influence of manna. But what is manna?
In this talk that has been given at Trinity College Dublin, at Greenwich University and in Beyond Psychedelics in Prague, the irreverent Reverend Danny Nemu will be dishing out doses of the sacraments with messianic abandon.

Event Details
LDN Talks @ Night and Funzing are proud to present Jana Uher, who will be sharing insights from her pioneering and award-winning research on personality in animals.
Looking for a new pet? But not just any dog or any cat. Personality matters – also for animals.
But what actually is personality that we can apply this concept also to animals – or are we just projecting human characteristics on other species? You will learn that personality is a broad concept that refers to individual differences that occur in many species but also to individual differences that are uniquely human. This uniqueness is not only a result of our complex brains but especially of our human language.
Jana Uher is a world-leading expert in research on animal personality. She has studied more than 10 nonhuman primate species, among them gorillas, chimpanzees, bonobos, orangutans and various monkey species in countries all around the globe. She has also been training large-breed dogs for 16 years.
In her research, Jana has developed scientific methods to systematically compare individuals’ observable behaviours with ratings of their personality by human observers. This novel approach provided new insights into the ways in which animal individuals really differ, but also revealed erroneous attributions of all-too-human characteristics. Jana will share insights from her 15 years of research on this topic and many fascinating videos.
Jana obtained a PhD in Psychology before spending 8 years as a scientist at world-renowned universities and research institutions in various countries. Currently, Jana is a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics where she explores the mental processes involved in personality judgements. Her research has received various awards and prizes for its originality and for addressing fundamental research problems.
